DERMATOLOG ORKUN ERDEN
Dermatologist
I was born in Ankara in 1986. I graduated from Ankara Kalaba Anatolian High School in 2005. In 2011 I completed my medical degree at Kırıkkale University Faculty of Medicine and received the title of Doctor of Medicine. The same year, after graduating, I ranked 100th in Turkey in the medical speciality examination and began dermatology training at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital. During residency I saw how closely skin disease is tied to psychological illness, so I trained in hypnotherapy and EFT (emotional freedom technique) and began to use them. In 2015 I completed dermatology training and received the title of Dermatologist.
To approach my patients as a whole, not only from the dermatology side, and to widen the options, I completed Ministry of Health approved certified training in acupuncture, ozone therapy, larval therapy, hirudotherapy, hypnotherapy and cupping, added complementary methods accepted around the world to my treatment plan, and began to offer supportive methods alongside medicine. In 2015 I started at Ankara Occupational Diseases Hospital, my first specialist post and place of compulsory service, and worked there on occupational skin disease. With the oral presentation “Mercury Intoxication Related to the Use of a Spot-Lightening Cream” I received the best oral presentation award at the 27th National Dermatology Congress. After compulsory service I settled in Istanbul in 2018 and first worked as a dermatologist at Medipol Çamlıca University Hospital, where I set up the Cosmetology and Complementary Medicine Unit. In 2019 I began as assistant professor and head of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital. Alongside a busy cosmetic and laser practice, I taught foreign doctors who came to the country for training in botox, filler and mesotherapy, within a certified programme in cosmetic and clinical dermatology. I also taught dermatology at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine and contributed to the training of new doctors.
In 2020 I was appointed assistant professor at Atlas University Medicine Hospital, where I still work, and I continue as a dermatologist. At Medicine Hospital I still provide a wide range of cosmetic treatments, laser treatments and complementary medicine. In aesthetic and cosmetic dermatology we actively use botulinum toxin (botox), hyaluronic acid and filler, mesotherapy for aesthetic purposes, thread lift, nonsurgical face tightening, and skin rejuvenation with energy-based devices.
For patients and people who consult us, we first describe the path that preventive medicine asks them to follow so that health and a healthy skin structure can form, and when needed we also use acupuncture, cupping, hirudotherapy, ozone therapy and hypnotherapy alongside cosmetic and dermatological treatment.
