Masseter botox
Masseter botox is a botulinum toxin treatment that temporarily reduces overactivity of the masseter, the chewing muscle. It is planned for tooth clenching and to soften a heavy jaw angle.

- 4–6 monthsFor most people the effect sits in this range
What is masseter botox?
The masseter is a strong muscle that closes the jaw. If it overworks in grinding and clenching, it can cause both pain and a square look in the lower face. Botox temporarily lowers the strength of this muscle. It does not change the shape of the jaw bone.
Who is assessed?
Adults with tooth clenching, jaw fatigue or a thick masseter are examined. Pain from the jaw joint, the bite and muscle thickness should be separated. Some people also need a splint together with a dentist. Botox is not, on its own, the treatment of every jaw pain.
What is expected afterwards?
Chewing can tire more quickly in the first weeks. Very hard meat and chewing gum can be uncomfortable then. Slimming of the jawline becomes clearer as the muscle relaxes, usually within a few weeks. The dose is set for the difference between the two sides. The aim is not to switch chewing off.
How often is it repeated?
When the effect fades, a review is planned for most people after four to six months. Frequent high doses can cause needless weakness in the chewing muscle. A repeat is decided from the complaint and the examination.
The suitable method is decided after examination. For an appointment you can call 0555 714 62 95 or write on WhatsApp.
